The International Physics Olympiad is the World Cup of physics—five-hour theory marathons, hands-on experimental puzzles, and a global village of teen scientists. Bangladesh joined in 2011 and has since grown from plucky newcomer to consistent medal winner.
What the contest looks like
- Theory exam: three elegant but diabolical problems across mechanics, E&M, quantum, astro—derive, model, argue.
- Experimental exam: MacGyver mode—measure, align, analyze, present. Real lab skills under pressure.
Bangladesh enters the chat
Debut in 2011 (Thailand), “Best Newcomer” on the first try. Since then: a growing pipeline of regional/national contests, university-hosted training camps, and alumni mentors. Milestones include multiple Bronzes and several Silvers—proof that our students can spar with the best.
Why you’ll love it
- Deeper understanding: concepts become intuition; you start to “feel” the physics.
- Hands-on chops: real experiments, real data, real troubleshooting.
- Global community: friends, jerseys, and future lab collaborators from around the world.
